Totally brutal product. Set up was fast and easy, but that's where it stops. Very loud fan. Transfer speed is horrible. The drives get so hot in this enclosure that you can't touch them - no doubt will lead to premature drive failure. Unit takes several minutes to boot up. I hated this product. A total waste of money. I returned it and exchanged it for a competing product.

Handles 2 1TB drives without a problem. Takes about 16 hours to initialize the RAID 1 mirror at this size, but you can use it at this point. Has one small fan with exhaust on right side.It must have a 16 MB cache because the first 16 MB of writing are fast, after that the speed drops down to less than 3 MB/s. Reading is about 4 MB/s. This is after the mirror has been built and utilizing a 2 GB test file.

I cannot recommend this unit at all. It is a toaster oven for 1TB 7200 SATA drives. After 30 days it has toasted one drive. Also after 30 days the NAS200 no longer works, it powers up does a scan disk and locks out it's E-Net port. But it works without any hard drives installed, which might mean it toasted the two new Seagate 1TB HD inside it, yikes!!! (Please note that this unit is slow, it is over rated at 100 mbps.) Linksys tech chat could not fix the NAS200 after 3 hours and recommended reloading the firmware, that still did not fix the problem. It's RMA time, but why bother, I think I will just buy something else that really works and return this unit to Frys, where someone else can give it a try.
