Summary

The NSS4100 from Linksys in an intelligent chassis that's designed to make network storage management easier. The chassis has an embedded processor and Linux 2.6 OS built in. This feature lets you use all of the drive capacity for storage. The embedded controller also allows up to 15 concurrent CIFS users. The four drive bays are populated with 250GB SATA drives. In addition to the standard 0 1 5 and 10 RAID levels the NSS4100 also supports RAID 1Spare and 5Spare. If theres a drive failure the data is secure giving you time to install another drive. The NSS4100 can operate in stand alone mode or it can be integrated into a Linksys One network. It also supports Microsoft's Distributed File System and Active Directory Service. You can also increase capacity by using Networkbased Storage Aggregation which distributes the RAID set over multiple NSS devices.
