Pleasantly smaller than I expected and tucks away nicely.Having an issue with ''NFS'' wherein all possible settings have been made, but NAS complains about 'no export entry' and denies NFS access. No response from Visionman help desk.No obvious access into linux back-end to manually add entries into the export tables.PC Backup software doesn't recognize the accessible mapped-drive for automated back-ups (which I find odd). All things considered, it's still nice to have centrally located files!

Just installed this for a client, works great, performs well, and the management interface is a well-polished piece of work. The default configuration defeats the purpose of a RAID capable NAS, however, as it is set to span both disks, in effect giving you a 500 gig partition w/no data security in the event of a disk failure. Changing the RAID management to use RAID 1 (mirroring) causes the default public, private, and download shares to get erased, leaving only the media share. If you plan to use anything besides disk spanning, first record the default share names and familiarize yourself w/their conventions so you can easily recreate them. That aside, this thing rocks. A small issue is the feet are basically little stick on pieces of foam and do not raise it up high enough to give it adequate ventilation (has a vent grill along the bottom front just as you see along the top in the pictures) on their own. Great value, easy to set up and use. Runs Linux, supports FTP, well worth it!
