Pareto efficient choice for mobile computing

Pros:

Keyboard/peripherals, Weight, Build Quality
Cons: Display performance

If you want a mobile computer, you need to balance size, weight, functionality, and cost. The X200 accomplishes this with aplomb. Weighing about 3 pounds, sporting a full-sized keyboard, and coming in at nearly half the price of the X300 or Apple Air, and running on battery for at least 6 hours, and crunching number with a real processor (no ULV), there is not a better sweet spot for mobile computing.

" Get it Done " Performance

Pros:

Processor, Memory, Input/Output compatibility, Wireless card, Display resolution, Screen size, Display performance, Weight, Battery, Durability, Security Features, Build Quality

After having purchased a "T" series Lenovo Laptop and enjoying many hours of solid performance, I looked for a smaller and lighter laptop to take while on vacation and for portable use at home. I purchased the X-200 series product, and I don't know how I got along without it and it's " Get it Done" performance. That said, I find new applications for it's size, power, and portability all the time. I look forward to future products from an inovative company like Lenovo. Nice Work !

X200- A 3 month review

Pros:

Processor, Memory, Input/Output compatibility, Keyboard/peripherals, Wireless card, Display resolution, Screen size, Display performance, Video card, Bluetooth, Weight, Battery, Durability, Warranty, Security Features, Build Quality, runs cool & quiet but that is to be discovered!
Cons: Storage, Included Software, Support, base station lacks dvi !

- 4GBPC3-8500 1067MHZ2DIMM Memory
-Slow 250gb 5400 rpm hard rive
-INTEL CORE2DUO PROC P8600(2.4GHz)
- INT.WIFILINK5100
- INT.TURBOMEMORY 2GB

Comes loaded with a lot of Lenovo software that does not mesh well with Vista that is already over bloated w/ unnecessary software.
Not fond of having to download every driver for machine. Lenovo should return to automatic driver update program- that was sweet!

I recommend a fresh OS install. Be advised Lenovo charges extra for Vista OS disc. Do not get caught up in making the backups.

Specs on machine are nice. Turbo Memory memory has no real noticeable use. Internal wifi card has good range and speed. Difficult to tune in at first- kept dropping signal. With new OS install and driver update- never had a problem

-Base Station is nice, however you NEED to Get the additional DVI adapter cable. LENOVO doesn't tell you that. It plugs into display adapter port. Cost $30 bucks for new cord.
-Can add additional hard drive on base station, sweet !

- Wish base station was a little more sleeker, for travel w/ dvd rom.

-Can swap w/ blu-ray rom when price drops!

-Lenevo should consider DVI port in lieu of VGA, HDMI would be even nicer

-Back-lite on keyboard would be nice advantage

-Internal video card has excellent high-def resolution

-Lenevo does battery maintenance right! I recommend the 9 cell- has almost 5 hr charge

-Didn't offer a good 7200rpm hard drive option w/ large storage. I'm personally waiting until solid state drives drop in price, then swap.

-Fingerprint login is nice security feature
