Wonderful for portable utility

Pros:

Processor, Memory, Display resolution, Display performance, Video card, Weight, Battery, Durability, Warranty, Build Quality

The keyboard on this laptop beats everything else out there, and allows me to type at least 20 wpm faster than on the Dell I previously had for work. Every feature is well-designed, and I can't imagine a better system for productivity and portability.

I love it!

Pros:

Processor, Memory, Storage, Input/Output compatibility, Keyboard/peripherals, Wireless card, Display resolution, Screen size, Display performance, Video card, Weight, Battery, Software compatibility, Durability, Warranty, Build Quality
Cons: Included Software

This is a solid, well-build laptop that sprang to life immediately when turned on. I am a business user, not a gamer, so many of the negative comments about graphics and video cards do not apply to me. If you want that, upgrade on your own. It is fast, quiet, and I love the keyboard's feel and responsiveness. I will never buy another Dell. I did not like the installed McAffee but the ability to "downgrade" to XP Pro from Vista sealed the deal for me.

When friends strongly suggested a ThinkPad to me I was a little skeptical. I was in the market for a gaming laptop, not for a work machine. But I did some research and talked to other, less vociferous, ThinkPad owners and my interest was piqued. These people were very knowledgeable friends of mine who are hard on their hardware. They, knowing me, suggested the ThinkPad because they knew how hard I'd be on my laptop and they knew a ThinkPad would be more than capable of handling the gaming I'd be doing. I did research on other gaming laptops, that is to say laptops marketed specifically to gamers, and most of them had some kind of hardware/chassis-related problem; e.g. board flex issues. When I put the full picture together it just made sense to get a ThinkPad, and I couldn't be happier with my T500. It runs every game I've tested on it extremely well and it is standing up to the beating of my regular activity beautifully. No lock ups, no data loss and I've dropped the darn thing three times so far.
