I had been using a Apple G4 Powerbook for the last 5 or 6 years and made the decision to get a PC notebook. At first I went against my friends advice and bought an HP; this was a HUGE mistake. Within two weeks I shipped that HP back and ordered a Lenovo notebook. Customer service was very helpful in getting me the notebook that met all of my needs, and at a great price! This notebook is so durable, dependable, and efficient; I use it for both school and work, so you can imagine how much use I get out of it. The only bad thing I can think of doesn’t relate to the hardware itself; I ordered Norton 360 for enhanced security which it actually does a good job at, but at a price, it does take quite a bit to run (luckily I have the 2.4 GHz processor and 4 gigs of ram). I would suggest this notebook to anyone who is willing to sacrifice “fancy” glossy cases and “big” speakers for the quality of a Lenovo T series notebook. Two thumbs up!

This T500 is no exception. I was able to get XP installed on it from the factory, which was a big plus. Excellent, top-notch build quality, silent, fairly light, excellent, snappy performance. All of the features worked flawlessly out of the box. Battery life is good too. The price for T-Series ThinkPads is a bit high compared to say a Vostro, but the quality you gain by going with a ThinkPad is worth it. The only issue I had with it, and I have this with all custom-builds, is that it took a while to be assembled and shipped out. Once it was shipped, I got it very quickly.
