Excellent Product

Pros:

Processor, Memory, Storage, Input/Output compatibility, Keyboard/peripherals, Wireless card, Display resolution, Screen size, Display performance, Video card, Weight, Battery, Included software, Software compatibility, Durability, Warranty, Support, Security Features, Build Quality

As a first time laptop user, I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of how easy it would be to do the things I do on the desktop. After six weeks of use I am thrilled with this laptop and wish I had made this purchase a long time ago. Set up was a breeze, and everything works exactly as promised and expected. Even the transition to Windows Vista was a piece of cake!

Always Reliable

Pros:

Processor, Memory, Storage, Input/Output compatibility, Keyboard/peripherals, Wireless card, Display resolution, Screen size, Display performance, Video card, Battery, Software compatibility, Durability, Warranty, Support, Security Features, Build Quality

My last pc was a Think Pad that I purchased in 2001. It is much heavier in weight than the R500 so the weight issue that everyone mentions does not really matter to me. The R500 is lighter than what I am used to so for me the weight is a plus. I upped the processor speed to 2.40 GHz and increased the memory by 1 GB...also increased the screen resolution (which I am glad that I did.) When shopping I looked at the many other options that are out there and as always I come back to Think Pads. I think they are by far the best bang for the buck.
Best Computer I ever owned

Pros:

Processor, Memory, Storage, Keyboard/peripherals, Wireless card, Display resolution, Screen size

I have now owned my ThinkPad R500 for close to seven months, and I would this machine the best computer I ever owned - and I have had quite a few since I purchased my first IBM desktop PC in 1984.
