This is a great notebook that is very reliable and with good performance. Construction and materials are first rate! The only problem I have had is with some of the Thinkvantage software. It seems to use a lot of system resources and is very slow in actual work. I have tried to update the software through Lenovo, but I have not been successful as of yet in making any difference to my problem. Other than the Thinkvantage software, I love my Thinkpad!
I have had a HP unit at home for seven years. However, at work two years ago I was given a Lenovo unit to use. I liked the unit right from the start. It was much faster then what I was accustomed to. The history of IBM has made me somewhat partial to that company. It appears that the Lenovo Company has been a great extention to IBM. Since my purchase of the Lenovo unit, I have been very pleased with the follow up interest that the Lenovo Company has had in my purchase. The continued e-mail contact of interest is impressive. Hopefully, after several years of ownership, I will be able to express this same experience.
I recently purchased a new Lenovo R500. It works fairly well. I have had some Blue screen problems and the keyboard is loose on the left side. I don;t like the glide pad well as the one on my R50.
