Laptop of the Year.

Pros:

Processor, Memory, Storage, Input/Output compatibility, Wireless card, Screen size, Video card, Bluetooth, Weight, Battery
Cons: Warranty, Support, Build Quality

Besides the fact that a lot of the U330 machines came with manufacturing defects (which can be fixed by sending into repairs should you get any on yours), the laptop is money well spent.

Specs are amazing. Fast speed, good battery life.

The battery is not as good as it was claimed, and the keyboard sometime makes a squeky sound."1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Share this Review:Review 3 for 22672AU Overall5out of 5Performance5out of 5Mobility5out of 5Design4out of 5Features5out of 5Value5out of 5Reliability4out of 5 bigpete1

One of the most feature packed laptopsDate: November 18, 2008Pros: Processor, Memory, Storage, Wireless card, Display resolution, Screen size, Display performance, Video card, Bluetooth, Weight, Battery, Software compatibility, Durability, Build Quality
Cons: Input/Output compatibility, Keyboard/peripherals, Included Software, Support

"Here's the features, 320GB Hard Drive, 3GB DDR3 1033MHz Ram....!!! 2GHz Core2 with a matching 1033 FSB, 256 MB dedicated Video Card... I play COD4 at 1280x800 smoothly, without all the extras of course, the LCD is LED backlit, 300 nits = Really Bright... I use it half way most of the time. The keyboard is mushy but comfortable. Battery is decent... best ive owned... 3 hours at least, and it charges relatively fast. I run complex matlab and visual studio application with ease. Runs cool. Great wifi speed, Oh and an easy to configure HDMI output,...

cons = small track pad, poor placement of the Fn key, im used to the ctrl key being the key to the far left. Cant have everything. There is a touch sensitive bar which is sub par for features on todays laptops, but i rarely use it anyway....
ONLY 2 USB PORTS......A PAIN, but i have a hub so i have 5-6 now.... my fan takes up 1...."1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Share this Review:Review 4 for 22672AU Overall5out of 5Performance5out of 5Mobility4out of 5Design5out of 5Features3out of 5Value5out of 5Reliability5out of 5 Scout

Best Laptop For The MoneyDate: November 18, 2008Pros: Processor, Memory, Storage, Keyboard/peripherals, Display resolution, Screen size, Weight
Cons: Battery, Included Software

"First of all, this is a beautiful machine. The sleek and functional design is great. The trade-off for the beauty is that the glossy lid and touch pad above the keyboard pick up fingerprints like mad. I keep it clean but it could be an bothersome.

Vista works but still has some issues. It takes a long time to turn off and a long time to power up. It is very user friendly but needs a good service pack to fix operating issues like those I mentioned.

The laptop is very quiet and is able to handle everything I have asked of it. The bottom of the laptop next to the fan gets a little warm but it is not uncomfortably so. The glare of the screen is not bad at all and I've used it outside and inside if varying lights.

One thing that the computer lacks (to my knowledge) is that face recognition cannot be used for all password applications. That would be a huge plus.

All in all this is a great product and I have recommended it to many of my friends and fellow students. For the money and what you get, it is hard to beat."1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Share this Review:Review 5 for 22672AU Overall4out of 5Performance4out of 5Mobility4out of 5Design4out of 5Features4out of 5Value4out of 5Reliability4out of 5 ACHICAGO

Good computer, but space for improvementDate: November 4, 2008Pros: Processor, Memory, Input/Output compatibility, Keyboard/peripherals, Video card, Bluetooth, Weight, Security Features, Build Quality
Cons: Wireless card, Battery

"I was never able to reach 5 hours on fully charged battery (even when I used the lowest power-consuming settings). Screen is too glossy. I have some issues with one button backup, but still trying to resolve that. Sound/speakers are average. I expirience some issues with the wireless card."1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Share this Review:Review 6 for 22672AU Overall5out of 5Performance5out of 5Mobility5out of 5Design5out of 5Features4out of 5Value5out of 5Reliability5out of 5 Falchloin

The Absolute Best Laptop I Could FindDate: October 6, 2008Pros: Processor, Memory, Keyboard/peripherals, Wireless card, Display performance, Bluetooth, Weight, Battery, Build Quality
Cons: Included Software

"This is a laptop with quite an amount of flexibility and portability. Given that it has a Centrino2 CPU, DDR3 memory, and a fairly up-to-date graphics card, this laptop has quite strong performance, especially for its size. The BIOS loading time is quite fast (fastest I've experienced.) The Windows load time is a bit longer than I am used to though, but after getting rid of the bloatware and turning off some of the Lenovo features that I don't need day to day that load time improved significantly. Once Windows is up and running, this thin laptop is quite smooth (mainly use: Word 2007, Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8, IE7/Google Chrome, Half Life 2, Windows Media Center.) If you're not going to be playing performance intensive apps like video games or media editing programs, then the power consumption can be dropped even to the point of disabling the sound card making over 5 hours of battery life easily attainable (and given the performance of the CPU and RAM, the "high performance" setting is rarely needed.) Don't get me wrong though, don't think you can run Crysis on this. It has some gaming ability but if your looking for a full-fledged gaming machine, this isn't it.

For portability this machine is wonderful. It's barely over four pounds, and I dont know what the numbers come to, but this laptop is significantly lighter than my friend's macbook. Its fits in my school bag without making anything else cry for space, and I can barely feel its weight on my shoulder. Given the battery flexibility, this is easy to take anywhere even by itself for great usage time while leaving the power adapter back home.

Don't let your eye off it (and it will be difficult) while in public, because this laptop is absolutely gorgeous. Simple yet well thought cuts, everything is beautiful. easily one of the best aesthetic designs on the market.

The Keyboard really surprised me. It is really comfortable. i guess Lenovo is known for that, but I didn't know until i used the keys myself. The Ctrl key is one space to the right compared to most keyboards, but the learning curve isn't steep enough to speak ill of the entire board.

The LED backlit display is quite nice. It's instantly at the selected brightness and it gets quite bright. It isn't an HDTV (though it has an HDMI port, so you could connect one if you wanted to), but it is nice to the battery and soft on the eyes with the ability to scale it from 0 to 300 nits

There are a few things that some people might not like. One is that there is only one headphone jack. The LED screen has great viewing angles, but you'll have to bring your own splitter if you want to watch a movie with a friend. There are also only two USB ports. For me this is more than enough, especially since there is already almost every known built-in compatibility (Card Reader, Bluetooth, IR, Camera and Mic, DVD, firewire, line-in, express card, wireless ad-hoc networking...) but I know some already have their USB AT&T cards and such so that might be a problem.

If you're looking for a robust, well-built, and super small and good looking laptop that has quite good all around performance, then this is it.

If you're a hard-core gamer, or will be using this solely for video editing, then you'll need something with a top-of-the-line graphics card or dual hard drives and this just is not that laptop.

overall this laptop easily satisfied what I've been searching for months for, and Lenovo has grabbed me for future computer purchases, though i don't think I'll need to make one for quite some time."6 of 6 people found this review helpful.Share this Review:Review 7 for 22672AU Overall4out of 5 kjcj
