I bought this mini laptop for my girlfriend. She absolutely adores the red color and overall design. She likes that the screen is 10.2 inches as opposed to 8.9 like some of the other competitors. We wish the laptop came with more RAM, but we bought another chip and it does wonders for the machine. The keyboard is a little tricky to get used to as is the mouse pad. Buying an external mouse and keyboard will fix that up. The keyboard is still functional and can be used when traveling and when you don't want to bring an external keyboard. The battery, as everyone noticed, sucks. At least it can last for an hour and maybe two. Overall, it's a nice buy because it has so many features included.
The boot-up and application opening speed are good comparing with the full size notebook. The Wi-Fi has pretty good connection. My room has 3 walls blocking the HOT-SPOT but I have no problem to connect - no drop connection. Memory is easy to upgrade. If no application such as MS Office installed, the default 512MB is good enough. Of course more RAM is always better. The con of this S10 is the battery. 6 cell battery would be great since you will bring the S10 everywhere you go. I saw the review from DELL and HP, their netbook are really not good. The only one thats come closed to S10 is ASUS's Eee PC but many people said the Eee PC produce a lot of heat.
I like this little red machine but only for travel. Why no Bluetooth? Thats common as dirt. I enjoy all the attention I get but that will wear off. When I ordered this computer I ordered memory upgrade and was sent the wrong size--minor inconvenience. Get to work on a bigger battery and Bluetooth!
