buy it

great machine!

video games palyed thru steam so far (thats are demanding) that run perfectly no lag (on vista 64 premium 4gb ram 2.1GHz)

counter strike source
crayon physics (a must have for this laptop)
F.E.A.R. 2
the ship
call of duty 4
far cry 2
left 4 dead
half life 2
bioshock
team fortress 2
and all VALVe source games run flawlessly

games that arent good
saints row 2
BOTH S.T.A.L.K.E.R games
fallout 3 cant run good even on very low graphics and reseloution
lost planet:extreame condition (same as fallout 3 but the games sux anyway :))

other thoughts:
great laptop, wish the screen was a bit bigger for gaming
fan is very, loud, all the time
people say it runs hot but only where the fan is
fingerprint and dust magnet
memory card slot of spring loaded, i droped this laptop and my card wont stay in now, i have to hold it, and my finger print reader doesnt work (but i never used it anyway)
touchpad is AMAZING very responsive and nice feel
touch screen is resonsive, but the zoom is glitchy
keyboard is very nice feeling and prefrred from a regular keyboard for gaming and typing.

swivels in one direction.
no media keys becides mute, volume up n down
function and arrow keys are VERY small
battery sticks out an inch or so

o reccomend getting 2.2GHz or up if getting 4gb or more ram, since your cpu will be at 100% before you reach 4gb worth of things running (and will cause lag)

overall great machine, great buy, i reccomend it for anyone who wants both fun and readyness for windows 7 and the next generation, and a overly average graphics card that plays most demanding games fine

HP touchsmart tx2

This computer is smart and powerful. All the features work properly.

It comes with Windows Journal that allows you to use the computer as a regular notebook. It is just amazing to be able to write on your screen and do not waste paper. You can also erase, highlight, use different pen colors and much more :D.

If you dont want to use the regular keyboard, you can always use the touchscreen keyboard that comes with the Pc, it is amazing. It actually changes form keyboard to pen.

The webcam is very fun to use. With avatars that move when you do and more effects really ensure a good time.

The fingerprint reader is kind of complicated to use at first because it takes time to recognize your finger but you will get use to it. You can also protect your webpages with your fingerprint.

Internet connection is fast. (Wireless or with Ethernet cable)

i like the way that this computer allows you to look at pictures, videos and media. You really get the full experience of the big touchsmart pc on a tablet pc (notebook).

The touch capabilities also extend when playing games. if you like strategy games like SC 1,2 or AOE 3 then this will be right for you. I am really impressed that good games run with the graphics at medium / high quality.

Downsides. I only found 2.
It gets warm
The fan is noisy.

Loaded with features and well priced. This thing is a Beast!

Pros: Screen - nice gloss design, little to no graininess, very bright, the camera is awesome, the microphones are excellent and the speakers are on par with other laptops (though they do lack bass). There are handy buttons on the side of the screen that open settings, mediasmart, and rotate the screen. They all work. Fingerprint reader worked better than I expected. Keyboard - the full size keyboard is nice though they did have to make some buttons smaller. The touchpad has a nice feel to it and is very responsive. Battery life - I managed to get just over 4 hours (with a 6 cell battery) doing word processing only, minimal screen brightness, sound off, and wireless off. Multitouch is very responsive on the applications that it is supposed to work on. Mediasmart gesture may need a little work though but a very good step forward. Buttons and switches are in convenient locations and work well (buttons and switches for the volume, screen rotation, mediasmart, opening settings, power, etc.) Graphics - Although this isn't a gaming system, I managed to play Unreal tournament 2004 at a pretty decent frame rate all on medium graphic settings. I was very impressed by this considering that gaming is usually the nail in the coffin for vista. Specs - this PC is loaded with specifications. Lighstcribe comes standard along with a decent sized hard drive, a very good performing AMD processor and plenty of RAM to spare. Features - there are several nice convenience features included. The pen is included and it's extremely responsive, the express card remote control is very handy. The autorotate function for the screen is nice when switching back and forth between tablet modes. This makes things easy when it comes to switching back and forth between tablet and regular modes. Overall design and build: Although some peices of plastic do rattle, the notebook feels solid and very well put together.

Cons: Too many media applications that come standard on the PC (mediasmart and windows media center). It does tend to heat up a bit No screen feedback on screen brightness levels. The tab key and the ` key are too small. The f keys are also a little small. Multitouch needs a little more work. Had to do a system restore for all the features to work (Don't trust Best Buy to install anything!)... Read the full review at NotebookReview.com
