Pros: Nice external design. Does not get hot. Good features. Very light to carry. Battery does not get hot.
Cons: Fan should be a little less noisy, but it is still pretty decent compared to my old laptop's fan noise. The screen does not have very good viewing angles and the contrast ratio is not that good. Adapter gets hot.

I just got it a week ago and I purchased it during their President's Day sale and along with the $150 discount, I also got free RAM and HD Upgrade. I even got a free BluRay upgrade so I made sure to add the Lightscribe to it for an additional cost of only $20. Then to top it off I got another discount because I'm a college student. So because it was affordable and got it well below the current price, I made sure to get all the bells and whistles added. The most expensive upgrade I added was the CPU because I got the 2.8ghz. The standard DV4 can only be upgraded as high as 2.66ghz. I haven't had much of a chance to push it to its limits but the other day I burned a dozen CD's along with doing regular web browsing and running other apps. Everything ran so smoothly that I forgot I was burning CD's
Pros - Good size keyboard for easy typing - Lightweight. Good for those who will carry it around. - Nice semi compact size. - Fully loaded. - Scroll bar on mouse pad (similar to mac book feature) - Good speed - Upgradability to 8gb of RAM - HDMI - 12 cell battery sticks out of the bottom but its designed to angle the laptop for ergo while typing and good airflow.
Cons - shiny casing leaves alot of annoying fingerprints - touch pad is overly sensitive and makes mouse very jumpy. ( I guess it will take time to get used to it after some adjustments) - screen is reflective and has to be at right angle to reduce glare. - Most issues i'm having are either because I'm not used to it yet or its just a Vista issue. - USB ports are too close together
You will be truly happy with this purchase.

When I first got my dv4-1275mx, I, like a previous reviewer, thought there were only 2 USB ports on this laptop. After reading about the features of it on the HP website, I discovered there is a third USB in the eSATA combo port on the left side. After finding this out, I am now 100% satisfied with this HP laptop.
I love the speed of this computer. Mine has a AMD Turion X2 zm80 processor. Battery life (12 cell) is unbelievable. Yesterday I used it on battery power for over 2 1/2 hrs and when I was done, remaining power was still at 67%. And I was online the whole time with the wireless in use.
You can save $100 or so buying something cheaper, but if you want a really "sporty" laptop, I would definitely recommend this one!
