this is my first laptop ever and it is fantastic so far i have had it for a little less than a month so ive pretty much explored its drawbacks and helpfull features. a few good things about it are it is fast, cute design (not to girlie and not to boring, but still looks proffessional), the keybored and scroll pad r very nice, and it has a very good battery life. it has a cd and dvd burner along with lightscribe technology allowing you to make personalized multi-media disks. A few drawbacks are that the battery sticks out some but it is convient at times(easy to prop-up the computer for easy typing and veiwing). it is a little squeaky when you move quickly while the laptop is open.one more drawback is that it has windows vista on it. this is okayy for some people who have always had vista on thier computers, but for people like me (who grew up with XP or a MAC its a little hard to ajust to it. Now, about the screen. It has a wide veiw with great quality, one of the best i've ever seen on a pc! I use this mostly for school and entertainment but most of its features look like it would be good for bussinesses too. the computer is very light and is easy to move around with.
Pros: My previous laptop was 16" so I was a little worried this would be too small. However, I'm completely happy with this 14" screen. It's a perfect size for bringing to class and taking notes. Fits easily in my backpack and is pretty darn light.
The laptop is beautiful. Yes, it is very shiny, but I really haven't had problems with fingerprints. Reflective screen is at times annoying, but the gorgeous display more than makes up for it. Don't worry about it only being 1280x800. On a 14" screen, this is about as good as you can get. Blu-rays play wonderfully.
The processing is, like others have noted, very capable of handling several memory intensive applications at once. It's so nice having a RAM/processor combo that don't get dragged down by anti-virus software. And no matter what I'm running, the laptop never seems to get hot. I'd definitely recommend the upgraded graphics card, too.
Cons: Umm... I don't like the headphone port being in the front.
