First Time HP Buyer... & I LOVE My Laptop!

I had a great experience with purchasing from HP. I chose this notebook because I am the type of person who needs a computer that is user-friendly and that is something I can utilize for school and for home.

When I initially turned my notebook on, set-up was ridiculously simple, which was a pleasant and welcoming surprise for me since I do not have strong computer technological skills.

-The start-up for this computer is super quick.
-The battery life is superb (My laptop runs for a span of a little over four hours in class without being plugged in... & I still have enough battery life to use for fun after class)
-It is quiet.
-Multiple programs can run and the processing speed is still fast.
-The screen is very clear and the detail is awesome when watching a movie. (HP gives you a little remote control to use when watching a movie on this notebook, which I think is a fun little additional feature)
-Sound/volume settings are also crisp and clear. I enjoy listening to Pandora Radio online and watching Youtube, and the sound quality is a wonderful upgrade from my five year old dead laptop (which is NOT an HP). I really like how the volume setting is right at your fingertips on the keyboard and could be physically adjusted with the swipe of your finger.
-The keyboard is comfortable.
-It does not get hot (some warmth builds up, but its tolerable)
-In my opinion, WIndows 7 is a lot of fun and a fresh new look for me to enjoy instead of Windows XP.

The one slight flaw to this laptop is that there is significant fingerprint buildup. But, HP gives you a cloth to wipe down your laptop when you receive your package in the mail, so it is not that big of a deal.

I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this notebook to anyone who is looking for a user-friendly at-home laptop that could also be optionally used for school. (Even my friends who are more computer savvy like this notebook!)

I hope this review was helpful to any first-time HP buyers =)

Great choice

I've had my laptop for almost eight months now and it hasn't let me down yet. Admittedly, it is not a great buy if you're looking for a gaming laptop, but beyond that I would recommend it. Nothing can slow this thing down, no matter how many programs you have running at once. The memory on this notebook is amazing for the price.

The screen resolution is amazing though it can get difficult to see in very bright areas. This is usually only a problem with direct sunlight.

My previous notebook was the equivalent of a brick and as a student this lighter laptop is heaven. It's really easy to carry to and from classes.

A couple drawbacks: The regular battery life is a little on the short side. I would not be able to have it running for multiple classes in a row. The webcam is also a little glitchy when trying to use it in conjunction with other programs. Though that is a negligable problem, really.

The notebook does heat up a bit, but it's not unbearable. I've had it on my lap for hours at a time without becoming uncomfortable.

The fan noise is a little irritating if- and only if- you're an extremely light sleeper and it turns itself on at 3:00 in the morning for a routine security update. Beyond that- which is easily changed to a less ridiculous time- the fan noise during the day is perfectly fine. I've barely ever noticed it.

Overall, it's a great notebook. And for the money it's probably high on my list of best notebooks for students too.

after 3 month very satisfied

I have had this awesome laptop for 4 month now and I am very satisfied. As a student and traveler can highly recommend, because it is portable for amazing price providing exactly what I as a studen need,,,internet, movies, enough memory capacity for music, school staff....and as a girl I think the design is pretty cute :)...The only negative thing about it is problematic upgradintg to windows 7, anyway Vistas work also good
