Absolutely love it!

My old laptop is a Presario that I bought for college. After I graduated and began a career I needed something slimmer and more portable. My Presario is now with my little sister (as of yesterday!) and I wouldn't trade my DV4T for anything! I upgraded most of the features, including the 12 cell, and I think it's fast and powerful yet sleek and portable.

I read some complaints about the keys being difficult to read, so I went with the white and it's gorgeous! The 12 cell props up the back and keeps it cool, but I also got a cool pad from hp because of reviewers saying the bottom gets hot.

I upgraded just about everything at least a little bit but I still only paid $853 total, shipping was even free! After I ordered it I started seeing articles featuring this computer as the PC deal of the month, and I couldn't agree more.

I'm glad I waited for Windows 7, I know it wouldn't be the same with Vista. Some earlier bad reviews for this computer are really about Vista rather than the computer itself, so I hope no one lets that influence his or her decision.

Overall, I love it! I'm no computer expert by any means, but for the average computer user this is a dream come true!

Great so far

Well, I have had this laptop for about 2 weeks now and it is great. Works very fast, good battery. Some people say the fan is super loud. I have no idea what they're talking about. After a full day of heavy use, the laptop tends to heat up in one small section, but that's to be expected. 1 thing i would strongly recommend though is to get the 2.53 GHz processor if your getting the laptop with Win 7 Pro. If your getting home premium, the 2.26 one is good. I heard that P processors tend to be quieter than T.

VERY IMPORTANT: This is not an online gaming laptop. It works for lots of games, but wireless internet causes wireless lag for almost all laptops and some games cause the laptop to heat up like crazy, such as flyff. If your getting a broadband internet like verizon etc., then online gaming might be fine.

Bottom line: great for everything i need. Can handle lots of games like Warcraft 3 and such. Fan isn't loud for me at all. I have a cooling pad, but its fine even without it. The touchpad on this laptop isn't the BEST. It's decent but i recommend getting a wireless mini mouse. Keyboard feels wonderful when i type.

My configuration:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P7550 (2.26GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)-shouldve gotten 2.53(my mistake)
Windows 7 Pro. 6 GB RAM. Espresso Black color. 512MB Nvidia GeForce G 105M. No fingerprint reader. Wireless N-card with bluetooth(it supports all 3 types: b/g/n). High capacity 6 cell battery. 500GB 7200 RPM hard drive( GET 7200 RPM TRUST ME). I didn't order the remote, but they sent me it anyways(lucky me). HP wireless black mini laser mouse. I didn't order any software or protection plans.
