I was on a budget looking for a great portable laptop for $1K. I got more than I expected with this device. This is a very stylish, FAST and reliable laptop that can run just about all day without a power cord (I've gone 8 hours without even worrying). The only issue I have with the device is the track pad and the associated buttons. The track pad is a little skiddish and the buttons are noisy and hard to click. The keyboard is otherwise perfect.
I'm sure the battery life is attributed to the fact it doesn't spin any disks (HD or DVD) and it's sporting a low voltage processor. The comments I've heard about viewing angle are true too, but it hasn't been a problem for me because when I'm using the laptop, I'm generally looking at display directly. Don't generally get the family around a 13" display to watch a movie anyway.
