Pretty slick!

Just got one of these during the labor day sale and I love it.

The screen is a beautiful thing. But the high rez has one downside.... very small text and web pages. I just used the little Int Explorer button in the lower right corner to resize web pages (I find 150% to be ideal). Also go into windows personalization and make the text bigger. Otherwise you will need to change the adapter settings and lose the high rez capability. Don't want to do that.

Performance generally seems pretty snappy but when I did a DVD movie backup using DVD Shrink it took a little longer to do the shrinking/encoding than I thought it would. Not bad, just not as fast as I expected.

After a couple of charge cycles battery life seems at least adequate with the standard battery. I also got a large capacity battery for a spare and travel. With both I will have many hours unplugged.

Oh, I also got the backlit keyboard. This thing is great! Not sure how I ever got by w/o one....

One nit... and this is really a nit... the touchpad buttons are a little soft acting and have a long travel to get a "click". I have had about 4 laptops over the years and the pad buttons on every one of them had a different feel. This one is on the far end of soft/long travel. Like I said this is a nit, especially since most "clicking" gets done with touchpad itself. Need a drag and drop and a "right click" once in awhile... I'll just have to get used to the new buttons.

Obviously I can't comment on durability yet.

HP HDX 16t

Great laptop, but battery life is terrible........... just got it and the battery lasts less then 1 hour, if you get it make sure to get the 12 cell battery. I made the mistake of not getting it.... Read the full review at

Totally Perfect

I absolutely love this laptop. I've had several laptops in the past and I only buy HP's. I first bought this laptop from another company but it didn't have all the features I wanted like the Blu Ray Player, Backlit Keyboard, HDTV Tuner, 1080p Resolution screen and Wireless-N mini card. Even though it did have 4GB RAM and 500 GB Hard Drive which is what I wanted, it had none of the other features I mentioned and it cost $1,266 with the other company. I came to the HP website and customized the same laptop with the mentioned features and I ended up paying $1 less. So I send the laptop back to the other company because the one from HP had everything I wanted. After I placed the order with HP, my laptop went on sale the next day for $200 less with the same configurations. So I called HP and they refunded $200 on my credit card. So I only ended up paying $1065. Even if I wouldn't have gotten a refund for $200, I would have been satisfied because this laptop is WONDERFUL. I would recommend this laptop to anyone! Oh and the shipping was super fast. I got the free standard shipping. It left China on Wednesday and it was in Nashville Friday so it was still 2 day shipping for free!
