I love my new laptop! it's an excellent product for a really great price. I've only had it for about 2 weeks, however it's proved to be a good quality machine so far. I read all the reviews before I made my purchase and so I had to jump on board! It's perfect for just school and personal entertainment. Now my mom and brother wants to get one, so great job HP.

Great inexpensive Laptop

This was purchased for and by my daughter (13) At her age budget was a primary concern to what she purchased. Her goal was to find something that would allow her to perform basic computing functions, Internet browsing, School Work and research, and an interface for her Zune. With a little guidance from me she purchased this model with 4gb of ram and a 64bit operation system, the performance has been excellent considering the price. She can run Word, IE (only because haven't had time to set up Firefox yet) and her Zune software without any noticeable degradation in performance. Setup was quick and easy, and I was surprised at how little bloat there was from HP and what is there is easily turned off.If you're looking for basic computing and not high end gaming, this is a great value.

The 1st laptop I've owned...

Ever since my 1st computer back in 1999, I've always owned Desktops. I gone through 3 of those (all of another make) & had no major issues w/ them except portability! So, when the time came to purchase another computer 7 weeks ago, I wanted a Laptop right from the word 'go'. I confess that I had another make in mind on the day that I went shopping, but when the seemingly computer knowledgeable sales-person HIGHLY reccomended the 'HP G60-447CL', I took a good, hard look. Hmmm...Intel dual-core, Vista Premium, built-in webcam/mic, 16" HD monitor, DVD-CDRW, excellent memory & storage capacity, & more to rave about...? Hmmm...perhaps my 1st choice wasn't the correct 1...& the price--I do not believe it could have been beaten : a brand new, out-of-the-box notebook PC for less than I DREAMED? WOW!
I took it & it has been great--everything I'd ever need or want in a computer & MORE! The speed is most impressive, the graphics are more than intelligable, user-friendly? A definite! The monitor is a thing of beauty--better than any of my desktops. & @ 16 inches--in High-Def? GREAT! This G60-447CL Notebook PC Is as much a work of art as it is a work of technology. The sound from the Altec Lansing's is pristine. Thanks HP for producing such a grand computer @ such a minimal price!
