Excellently done HP!

I've had my 2nd Gen Envy 15 now for about 3 weeks now. I'm in love. The keyboard is the best I've tried. Bar none. Not even the Macbook Pro 15" I owned for two weeks right before getting hte Envy 15. The trackpad is better than the Macbook Pro 15" in Windows 7, though the MBP trackpad is better when in OS X when compared to Envy 15 in W7.

I've done a number of games and they all have ran really well on the laptop. I've been considering giving up my desktop and just using this full time for gaming because of it.

The Envy 15 stays much cooler than the MBP did, and it far outperforms it for less money. I can't recommend the Envy 15 enough. Don't hesitate to buy. It is an excellent product. (I would recommend the i5 version for less heat + greater battery life).

It's a very good laptop

Unlike a few reviewers, I've had this laptop for about two weeks so far, and have been happy with it.

The laptop is well-built, and seems to be quite strong. The overall feel of the laptop gives off a metallic feel, which is good for having a strong laptop. It's probably one of the most well-built laptops I have ever used.

The performance of the computer is great, and can play any game that I have tried at usually max settings, this is also the older model, which has a worse graphics card. While I'm at it, the display is also quite impressive, and can get pretty bright, although I haven't used it outdoors yet.

The multi-touch functions on the touchpad apparently has had problems, but I've been able to use it pretty well. The two finger scrolling was fine, it could've just been a little better. I think people are expecting perfection, like the Macbook's touchpad, but that's quite unrealistic. The touchpad's still one of the better ones I've used, though I don't really use it.

One slight problem I've had is the heat. Although my computer is on a fan 95% of the time, sometimes the palm rests get a bit warm. I've never had big problem with this, which some reviews seem to blow out of proportion. Even when I'm playing games on high settings that also require internet, my palms never get too uncomfortable to take off. The computer's always been in a range that I, as a human, can take.

The keyboard takes getting used to, if you're not used to a chiclet type of keyboard. Otherwise, like I said before, this computer has a very good built-quality, which includes the keyboard. I've felt no flex, even whilst writing this review at a decently constant speed.

I like the speakers on this computer, although it doesn't get super loud. The loudness actually is fine for me, though. I never seem to have a need to go to near max volume.

One thing I really dislike about this computer is the fact that all the connections are at the right side of the computer in the front area. this is inconvenient, and things can get cluttered. I use more than 3 USB ports anyways, so I have a USB hub that I use usually anyways, so it becomes less of a problem. It can sometimes get in the way when I use my mouse, as all the connections are put where a mouse would be.

The battery life is good, but only with the extra battery. The battery feels like it almost doubles the weight of the laptop. Otherwise, the battery can last decently long, especially for one that has such good insides. Some reviews of this laptop seem to completely forget about this extra battery and not bother to mention how good its battery life is.

Anyways, if I could, I would rather give this laptop a score of 4.5 out of 5 stars, mainly due to the clutter of cords you get from all the connections being pushed together. I would definitely recommend this computer to anyone that has the money (at least the price has lowered since I bought it).
