I had an older 5 year HP and it was good at the time of purchase but over the years and using other laptops and desktops the speed of the old HP was just not there. I purchased this and set it up without any trouble. I would recommend going to Fry's or someother PC store to by the Norton and save a bunch of money. For the price $300 ~~ after store special and mail in rebate ~~ it is a great buy. It has start up speed and connects quickly wireless to the internet. I give it an A+
