I researched for a long time on which computer I was going to buy. I even looked at the specs for custom gaming machines and found them wanting in many areas. Hp with the m9300z series offered the best value to money ratio of all that I researched. Many of the similar machines made by other companies either failed in the type of memory offered or the front side buss area. This machine has exceeded my expections, HP must have done alot of research on balancing this machine. Mine does not run hot as some of the others mentioned, it does run warmer than I would like but in contrast to other machines of similar specs it runs cooler. I could have bought this at a box store but I found dealing with HP. that you really can ask questions that are more detailed which adds to your assurance your buying the best machine you can afford. My HP will be used for gaming and I'm a senior citizen so I have used computer since back in the day. Wow is my favorite game and since I bought this machine I have seen a signifcant jump in frame rates and detail. Kudos HP you have earned a customer for life. If you want a machine that is fast and reasonably priced I suggest you buy this one. Thanks again HP for a good experiance.
Straight to the specifics: a little disappointed and have to buy add-ons to make up for the shortcomings.
Pros: Good, fast, mostly solid computer. I'm not tied to Intel, and saved $$ getting the AMD. I like the device organizer on top. I like this computer, and even though I've had a few issues, I'm not sending it back!
Cons: Beware, the AMD version only has 10/100 integrated Ethernet, which is not what it says on the website. The Intel version has 100/100/1000. So I'm buying a Gig PCI card. Couldn't get the TVTuner to receive signal, finally moved it to another slot and viola, it works. Have spent days trying to get the IR remote working, finally gave up and bought another remote.
Hope this helps someone else with their decision-making.
I went over the entire set up and I was amazed at the product.. All of the fetures I set up was better then the one I have now with HP>> I own a HP Pavilion a1040n and I had to buy a surver to help with the memory.. I have got exlant service out of my PC and now I want to upgrade to the m9300 series.. Good work HP on your PC programs, outstanding job..
