By far the best buy for your money. This projector has great colors even in the brightest setting - 3500 lumens, and you can hardly hear it when it's running. I have been using this projector for 6-months and it has been flawless. You can see every detail of the presentation with the lights on. I haven't had to change a lamp but based on others feedback it should be very easy. The keystone and volume adjustments are one touch adjustment. No browsing through the menu to get to these settings. I highly recommend this product. 5-stars

I had never heard of Planar so I did a little research and was pretty surprised by what I found. These guys (and gals) have been in the specialty display biz for over 25 years! Not only do they make projectors and lcd displays they also have one of the most highly regarded names in the diagnostic imaging field. For the A/V nuts out, Planar is the Parent company of Runco. Impressive resume, so I decided to give them a shot. My thoughts on this unit are stratight forward it kicks a$$. I use it mainly for teaching in well lit classrooms and the 3500 lumens gives me a very bright picture. Its great too for backyard movie nights (the neighborhood kids love it). The only drawback is portability. The carry case that it comes with is great, but it still isnt nearly as travel friendly as some of the ultra lights. I guess thats the trade-off for 3500 lumens Over all a great projector and well worth the investment.

This projector (PR5022) is the upgrade to Planar's top selling PR5020. We bought the PR5020 early last year, and just received our new PR5022. It has the exact same feature set and design as the PR5020, but this baby pumps out 3500 lumens. Like the PR5020, it has 3 lamp settings, so you can double the lamp life by keeping it in economy mode. It's definitely bright enough in economy. If you have full fluorescent lights on or bright sunlight coming through windows you can run it in boost mode for maximum brightness. I love the top loading lamp housing of both the Planar units. It's as easy as changing a light bulb! I thought the brighter PR5022 would have a loader fan, and maybe I'm going deaf, but I can barely hear either one. I also like how it ships with all the cables and a carrying case. I wish the cost was the same as the PR5020, but the 500 extra lumens sure do make for an amazing picture!
