Twice the resolution (1200 X 1200 dpi). Most other printers in this price range only produce 600 X 1200 dpi output. Very sharp text and graphics detail. Users who experience problems should try installing the latest drivers from the HP support website. Speed as advertised at 30-35 ppm. I simply love it.

LJ P3005D

Our company uses primarily the small business HP printers from the 2100 series to the 3005. The best model in performance is the LJ 2420.
I have to give the 3005 a much lower rating than previous models due to performance and quaility issues.
The P3005 takes much longer to spool local print jobs and has a much higher failer rate than it predessors.
It sometimes takes 5-10 seconds before the P3005 begins to print the job. Replacing LJ P3005 with the LJ 2420, the spool time was much shorter with the same print job.
The formatter board has failed in 6 units of about 80 we've purchased in the last 8 months. We are now testing the printers before we ship them to our satellite offices just to make sure they work since 3 of those 6 units did not work out of the box.
The print quality is still very good and have had no issues with paper feed, or print quality.
