I was first introduced to lightscribe when i purchased my laptop with a lightscribe drive. I right away scraped my inkjet printable labels and started to do one by one on my laptop becuase there is not INK needed so i saved $$$. But this was time consuming and it took a lot of computer resources, making my computer almost unusable while it was printing. With this Xerox duplicator get the job done 3x faster and i can use my computer while the xerox is doing its job. What I load to the hard drive apears on the LCD with the name i gave it. I give it a high rating becuase i know a person with minimal computer skills will know how to use it. Also the price is very competitive, i found other duplicators for more that had half the stuff this one has. All around a good purchase!

Very dissapointed.Problems:1. No instructions on how to use LightScribe feature. Had to contact Tech support for basic instructions.2. Cannot connect through USB to create light scribe labels. Label ''files'' must be made, burned to a CD, Device must them be dicsonnected from computer, label disc must be loaded, then label is burned from file on CD to CD is labeler bay. A waste of time!I am completely dissatisfied with this device. I cannot believe how un-user friendly it is!DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT buy. Spend a little more money on a device that is user friendly.

It works well as stand alone and if you get information off the HDD built in. Only down side is connecting it to the PC. I liked the idea which is why I bought it for my parents as a Christmas present. I decided to test it to make sure it worked and to learn how to use it and it worked great but when going from the computer to the drive on the unit you must unplug the cable and turn off the USB connection on the unit and restart the unit. It also takes some getting use to, I am a Computer Engineer and had some problems at first. It does not come with a user manual and the one on Xerox's site is not that good but if you read it carefully you will get it to work. All in all it is a great product, if I had the extra money at the time I would have bought the 1:3 or 1:7.
